For those about to die, we salute you!!

This Tuesday saw the wrap-up of the 5150 campaign with a four way game to capture the ANCIENT ARTIFACT, a Galactic-Gate offering the possiblity of travel across time and space.

Making the early charge I was quickly shot down, in the back, by Rich J’s stealthy approach whilst Ian and Jon took each other on. Jon’s dice eventually defeated him. Forced to make his move by mounting caualties Ian rushed in using the Gate as cover. A few missile rounds took him out,…. as well as the Gate. Oh well!!

Meanwhile, on a t able not so far away, Gladiatoral combat featured. Using Two Hour Wargames “Red Sand, Blue Sky” rules we’ll be running a quick campaign so if you think you can do better than Proximo at running your own school then enter the arena!

Red Sand, Blue Sky but which one's Spartacus?

First to the Galactic-Gate. Surely nothing can go wrong?

RAPID FIRE!!

The Galactic-Gate gets caught in the cross-fire! Draw??

Who let the dogs out

Returning to the 5150 campaign the latest round involved searching for an ancient transporter device buried beneath the surface of the Planet of the Ancients.Residing at the top of the leaderboard Rich J and Ian faced off going full bore with thier leaders confronting each other one on one.

The rest of us broke out Zombies 4: The End which involves battling Zombie K-9s through the boonies to cast a spell in an abandoned cabin. There’s probably a movie in there somewhere!

Open Gaming next week with Space Hulk and The Beautiful Game both mooted. Feel free to give us a go :

If you go down to the woods today.....

...you might just get savaged by rabid Zombie dogs!

Men and boys

This week at the club was the first live round of the 5150 campaign being run by Rich J.

With forces refined and rules remembered everything came down to tactics and luck! As such Rich and Ian were in the metaphorical driving seats.  Everyone gets one STAR character, effectively to play as themselves and mini-Rich was just a cunning and er… well equipped as big-Rich (so,so wrong).

Meanwhile Ian rolled HIS dice (jammy git) and between them fought for the weeks top spot, though without actually meeting on the field of battle!

No club next week so thier highly anticipated clash will have to wait until we return on Tues 8th Feb. Come on down and watch the carnage unfurl.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?

No, it's Rich J's STAR in exo-armour and some mean assed shades!

He's at it again! The one man army strikes.

Lying down on the job won't help.

Bug Hunt

In a slight change to the bill we decided to put on a big mutli-player game of 5150 on a 6 x 8 Afghanistan board:

Kudaji Dam was situated in Northern Afghanistan … 2nd platoon Royal Fusiliers had been on guard duty for 3 weeks when over night communications with them dropped out. A drone was sent out over the area but the vid footage showed no movement, indistinct infa red readings appeared to be present but the areas were too small to identified as anything, a spy plane did pick up some faint readings in one of the buildings but only enough to be two or three humans No Taliban activity had been monitored or called in by 2nd Platoon so what had happened remained a mystery. 3rd Platoon were dispatched by Chinook and dropped off outside the area to walk in … 4th Platoon were on the way by Viking but would be a while getting there.

The Fireteams were walking warily into the Dam area when they noticed what appeared to be odd pieces of mangled equipment and uniform scattered about … things were getting weird!

The Fireteams have to search the buidlings in the area and try to ascertain what had happened …

Your mission, should you choose to accept it....Fully briefed and supplied........

....... the advance gets underway.

Welcome (back) to the Jungle

Enfield Gamers 2011 kicked off with planning and playtesting.

The 40K boys are lining up thier next multi-player game of 40K Apocalypse, aided by plenty of eureka inducing doughnuts, followed by a relaxing game of Carcassone.

Meanwhile the players for Rich J’s 5150 ran through some playtest games to tweak thier final forces and, as we’re playing at squad level, try out the more detailed combat damage / injury rules. They were ably assisited by a number of mini raisin cakes. Can anyone see a theme forming?

Next week is open gaming with a distinctly rotten feel! All Things Zombie and Last Night on Earth (Zombie boardgame) are on offer. If you fancy surviving then shuffle on down and give us a groan :)
