Yo-ho!!
The club has recently been awash with a great del of interest in Spartan Games’ The Uncharted Seas;
The Uncharted Seas is a fast paced, action packed game of naval tactical combat set in a world of high fantasy. Using superb resin and white metal miniatures, and controlled by fast and easy to learn rules, the game allows you wage war with fantastical squadrons of mighty warships at your disposal.
Bone Griffins:
This once proud race was afflicted by an evil magic that over the centuries destroyed its people. But death was not to come for these people, instead the withered bodies of this once great empire would sail the waters of the Uncharted Seas in search of life to exterminate.
Dragon Lords:
Some believe the Dragon Lords were the first born Elf lords who dominated the younger races of the Old World for thousands of years, their reign only ending when the Elves fought amongst themselves and cast out the vilest of their own kind. Also believed to be immortal, legends claim that the Dragon Lords are themselves the reincarnated souls of the long dead dragons that first walked the world.
Imperial Navy:
At the heart of the human way of life is the Imperial State. For hundreds of years the humans have increased their power base in the Old World using the might of their Imperial Armies to basically get whatever they wanted – which was normally more land, power and natural resources. The Imperial Council, which sits at the core, is controlled by five Houses and these are the Arkos, Corvinus, Tepes, Váka and Dragutin.
Iron Dwarves:
This stalwart race is everything you would expect: short, fierce, shuns magic and has mastered the world of engineering. Having harnessed steam power the Dwarf Guilds quickly set about exploring and was the first race to send out fleets from the Old Kingdom, in search of new lands and riches to the West.
Orc Raiders:
As for the Orcs, well after the Great War of the Old World, the Orc tribes, under the leadership of Slaarg the Mighty, underwent a metamorphosis. They still smell and they still expel gases that can offend at 40 yards, but the ‘New Age Orc’ is a far cry from the drooling psychopath of old. They even mimic their old enemies and some tribes now wear clothes!
Shroud Mages:
When the Dwarven race split in half many centuries ago the artisans of steam shunned magic. But those that continued to embrace magic renamed themselves and left the Old World behind. Now known as the Shroud Mages the hearts of these dwarves are almost as dark as their magic.
Thaniras Elves:
There is no finer way to strike fear in the hearts of your enemy than to field a War Dragon – or three! As this majestic beast swoops over the battlefield enemy troops head for the nearest cover for fear of its ferocious acid blast weapon… and then there are the warships!
At the next club meeting on the 11th August we will be playing running games with a number of the starter box fleets, covering the majority of fleets. If you’re interested in taking part feel free to drop by though we reccommend that you post up on the forums.
Aaaargghh, Jim Lad!!
