Episode 1 – Hard Times at Black Rock
Welcome to Black Rock, the sprawling industrial heart of Khronos-Prime’s fledgling mining community. Built on a massive rock promontory it is the system’s only intergalactic spaceport.
Beneath its verdant green, forested surface lie deep deposits of valuable metals, minerals and gases highly valued by the wider galaxy. A triumvirate of barren moons orbit Khronos with four ochre gas giants completing the system.
The spaceport and trading pits are run by the ubiquitous Tenloss Corporation and are well staffed by their, primarily Gammorean, security force.Mining is everything in Black Rock and many workshops, mechs, chop-shops and hauliers operate around the clock within the industrial yard.
A network of out-stations serve the farthest flung mining concerns ferrying parts, supplies and workers out with ore, minerals and gases coming back in.
Hab-blocks of varying standards rise into the oil-stained skies for roughnecks and miners from every part of the galaxy. Each block has a “recreation” zone to complement the many bars, clubs and assortment of dives on “The Strip”.
Amongst any community is always a further under-class and Black Rock is no exception. “The Shanty” sprawls down the back of the promontory with it’s most desperate residents just metres from the forest. On the far fringe Khronos rarely feels the influence of the Republic with only the occasional military sweep through the system.
Such a power vacuum is quickly filled and such a port is a natural home for smugglers, blockade runners and any number of desperados all driving a thriving black market.
Outside of Tenloss’ apparent respectability a small number of major players share power within Black Rock and across the Khronos system as a whole.
The Anjillac are a typical Hutt clan with a network of slavers, loan sharks, dealers and pimps. They control almost every pleasure den across Khronos. Indepedant operations are rare indeed.
Epsis are an Ubese run group who maintain their position by maintaining Black Rock’s connection to the holo-net and maintaining the heavy tech that keeps operations running. Techs, slicers and mechs utilising technology rather than raw muscle.
Sable Dawn prefer to operate in the shadows. Their agents do not advertise and they project their influence through blackmail, extortion and clinical assassination. A steel fist in a velvet glove.
So many opportunities for wealth, power, notoriety and your own death……..
Following my abject failure to turn up on time to my own flat Tuesday August 4th will now be the first live session. A report will follow :)
Here’s a look at the second official Enfield Gamers meeting…

Rich and Charlie play Star Wars Pulp

Shaun shows off his custom Napoleonic rules to Rob

Darth Vader prepares to fall in the lava (again).

Shadoblade takes just three turns to beat Undead Jon at AT-43!
Like the look of any of these games? Why not pay us a visit?
On the 28th it seems that people are playing AT-43 or the PULP rules, including some Star Wars action … there may well also be some board gaming or such.
If anyone wants in to any of the above, join our forums and fix it up.

"You sure the EG address was locked in?" "Indeed!"
Episode I – Hard Times at Black Rock:
Since having been hired on as entourage and crew by a respected Ilthorian Noble to support his Son, Mor-mar, on a diplomatic trade mission to the fringe, life has improved greatly.
The full purpose of the mission wasn’t important but the job was easy, expenses were paid and the final bounty would put right a multitude of the galaxy’s wrongs.
Having made a jump into the Khronos system the ship was bounced by unidentified marauders and, by the grace of the pilot’s god, you barely made it to the local Black Rock space-port on the system’s only major world, Khronos-Prime.
The damage is extensive to both the ship and your nerves but a few errands have settled docking fees and provisions for a few weeks.
Black Rock is exactly that, jutting from the extensive forests that dominate Khronos-Prime. A number of small moons and satellites hold a loose orbit, each as barren and uncharted as each other.
The locals aren’t much better, a mix of drifters, mercs and miners drawn by the rudimentary mining complexes seeking to exploit the planet’s recently discovered mineral wealth.
The law is whatever can be enforced by the gangs and crime lords that run the black market. Starship parts are expensive and your funds for repairs are short.
Just as well that there’s plenty of opportunity to be earn a credit or two!
The first LIVE session is Tuesday 21st and the group has decide to meet every fortnight to complete the first chapter before we swap system.
