We will start on 30th March.

The fleets do not have to be the same for every game, fleets may be altered before each game no problem.

I've just spent £25 on some new boats and subs so should have plenty of flexibility for the campaign. Why does PayPal make it so easy for me to spend all my money?

D'oh and at the same time win

I ordered 4 Heavy destroyers for my elfs as the ebay page siad they were 1 per box and I wanted a full squad (4 models) or 2 min squads (2x2) the ebay page was wrong and I now have 8 heavy destroyers for my fleet, All good I can live with that but reading the rules I need to get 2 more cruisers before I can use them as you cant have more heavys destroyers then normal cruisers.

but this does put my fleet up to 1715 points

So, here are the final finalised basics.

1 Start Date = 30th March 2010

2 Fleet size = 600 max, no Flagships. (Unless otherwise stated in scenario)

3 Scenarios

Roll on table 1:

Table 1 (Roll 1d6)

1 = Roll on Table 2 (+1 to roll)
2-4 = Turn up & Fight
5-6 = Roll on Table 2

Table 2 (Roll 1d3)

1 = Treasure Hunt* (Roll for Attacker/Defender - Lower = Attacker)
2 = Monster Hunt
3 = Capture the Island
4 = Run the Gauntlet (Roll for Attacker/Defender - Lower = Defender)

4 Alterations to Printed Scenarios:

Turn up and Fight
Turn Limit = 6 Turns

Capture the Island
A slight change to the victory conditions:

Major Victory = Getting double or more the number of troop tokens onto island than opponent.
Minor Victory = Getting more tokens onto island than opponent, but less than double.

Running the Gauntlet
Getting the Battleship off the table or Destroying it are considered a Major Victory the the side that achieves it's goal.

Monster Hunt
No victory conditions are stated in the scenario, so for the league run they are:

Major Victory = Killing/capturing monster, ie defeating it in close combat.
Minor Victory = Killing monster by shooting it.

5 League Points:

Major Victory = 3pts
Minor Victory = 2pts
Draw = 1pt
Loss = 0pts

The difference between VP for & against will also count and will need to be noted. For the scenarios in Table 2 that don't use VP to calculate victory the VP for are counted as follows:

Major Victory = 600VP to winner
Minor Victory = 300VP to winner
Draw = 150VP to both players

6 League Special Rules:

If a fleet loses 50% of it's starting points worth of ships the fleet's owner may forfeit the game at the beginning of the next full turn. Their opponent counts as having won a Major victory regardless of VP difference.

*Treasure Hunt is a home-brewed scenario I have come up with, thanks to Steve, Ian, Charlie & Andrew for playtesting the first draft, I've made a few tweeks now, the scenario is as follows:

Treasure Hunt

Scenario: The defending fleet is transporting a valuable treasure to a friendly port but attacking fleet has discovered the route AND the name of the ship carrying the treasure, and are laying in wait to try & take it. The game is played on a 4' by 4' table.

Terrain & Weather: Dice for terrain & weather as normal.

Fleets: Both players have the same points value with which to build their fleet. Before the game begins the defending player must declare which of his CAPITAL ships is transporting the treasure.

Objective: The defending fleet must get the treasure off the table via their opponents deployment zone.
The attacking fleet must board & capture the treasure ship, then get the treasure off of any available table edge.

Victory Points: The aim is to get the treasure off the table, victory is calculated as follows:

Major Victory = Getting Treasure off respective table edge.
Minor Victory = Being in control of the treasure at the end of game, but treasure ship still on table OR treasure ship deliberately sunk by opponent (by shooting it)
Draw = Treasure ship sunk accidentally by either side (through Ramming/Colliding).

Time Limit: 8 turns.

Special Rules:

* No Night Fighting.
* The treasure may only be transported on a capital ship, Frigates are just too small to carry it.
* A frigate (or squadron thereof) may capture the treasure ship but may not load the treasure. A friendly capital ship may come alongside a captured treasure ship to transfer the booty in which case the Ramming/Colliding rules are ignored.
* It takes 1 turn to transfer treasure to a new ship.

Any opinions, queries etc. let me know.

J

For those who might be interested myself, Ian and Charlie played a three way "Turn Up and Fight" game.

It worked a lot easier than any of us thought it might so shouldn't be a problem for the campaign.
